Universal Studios Japan Adds Metal Detectors To Coasters

Universal Studios Japan, which was recently bought by Comcast, has taken a cue front Universal Orlando and has added metal detectors to it’s coasters. Comcast added metal detectors to Orlando’s coasters back in 2015, and then they rolled them out in Japan today.

The metal detectors are used to prevent guests from bringing loose articles, such as phones and wallets, onto the ride. Two coasters at the park are using this metal detector system; the Flying Dinosaur and Hollywood Dream: The Ride. The photo above shows a metal detector being used at Hollywood Dream, and it was taken by @tigger_usj_fun on Twitter.
